Inflatable Door Seal Vacuum Paddle Dryer
Bombay Rubber & Carbon Works
Vacuum paddle dryers rely on an airtight door closure to hold process vacuum while converting wet cake or slurry into dry powder. Bombay Rubber & Carbon Works' Inflatable Door Seal for Vacuum Paddle Dryers is purpose-built for this duty — inflating against the door frame to form a complete, gap-free barrier that holds vacuum integrity and keeps the drying chamber free of contamination, bacteria ingress, and particulate leakage.
Each seal is custom-extruded and trimmed to the required length, then joined to produce the exact inner-diameter needed for a specific dryer door. Seals can be tailored in length and supplied with or without internal sealing channels, depending on the installation.

Figures above are typical for standard silicone and NBR grades; confirm exact ratings against the compound-specific datasheet for your dryer model.
Platinum-cured silicone (standard grade):
- Resists repeated flexing and inflation cycles without losing elasticity, important for doors that open and reseal frequently during batch processing.
- Maintains a hygienic, low-contamination surface — platinum cure avoids the by-products associated with peroxide-cured silicones, making it well suited to pharmaceutical, food, and fine-chemical drying operations where sterility matters.
- Stable across a wide temperature band, so the seal performs consistently whether the dryer runs a cold drying cycle or a heated vacuum cycle.
- Low compression set keeps the seal returning to its original profile cycle after cycle, supporting a long service life on high-duty equipment.
NBR / Buna-N (process-industry grade):
- A cost-effective alternative where the application involves general process industry duty rather than strict hygienic requirements.
- Good resistance to oils and many industrial fluids, suited to multiple applications across process plants beyond just dryers.
Fabric-reinforced construction (optional):
- Where higher structural strength is needed, an internal fabric carcass (fabric type selected by temperature and pressure duty) can be built into the seal, with an external rubber nozzle option for added flexibility and extended fatigue life.
- Pharmaceutical Manufacturing — vacuum paddle dryers producing active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and intermediates, where sterility and contamination control are critical
- Fine & specialty chemicals — drying wet cake and slurry into powder form under vacuum
- Food processing — hygienic drying applications requiring bacteria- and particulate-tight door seals
- Bulk & powder handling — general process industry equipment using paddle or rotary vacuum dryers
- Chemical & petrochemical processing — converting process solutions and residues into dry, handleable powder
- Environmental & waste treatment — sludge and residue drying systems using vacuum paddle technology
